Join RVC

The members of the River Valley Colonials Fife and Drum Corps take fun seriously. We work hard to ensure quality performances, but don’t sacrifice our enjoyment of the hobby. RVC is a family-friendly organization and our members range in age from 16 on up. We realize that members have jobs and responsibilites that need to be tended to outside of the hobby, and we are proud that we are able to accomodate the busy schedules of todays families.

Practices are held on the second Sunday of each month. Because our members are scattered throughout Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, we rotate the locations of each practice held between the Janesville, Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago areas in order to ease driving times for individuals.

With limited practice times, we ask that members (especially the musicians) practice on their own so that when we do have rehearsals, we are able to have things run smoothly with minimal wasted time. Fife ensembles and drum sectionals are sometimes held as an extra practice when schedules allow and depending on the needs of the group as a whole.

If you’ve considered the above and would like to attend an event to see what we are all about, please do so! You can find our calendar of events here. If you know you’d like to get involved, but are afraid that you can’t commit to 8 to 12 events per year, no problem....do what you are comfortable with or what your schedule will allow. Don’t let time constraints prohibit you from a totally new experience or the love of a hobby that you have fallen away from previously.

RVC also welcomes historical civilian portrayals.
